The 2024 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarships are opportunities provided by the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) in the Philippines. 

These scholarships aim to support deserving students pursuing higher education financially.

DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship

The S&T Undergraduate Scholarships Program aims to stimulate and entice talented Filipino youths to pursue lifetime productive careers in science and technology and ensure a steady, adequate supply of qualified S&T human resources which can steer the country towards national progress. The DOST-SEI is now accepting applications for the 2024 Undergraduate Scholarships, check below:

Types of Scholarship

  • MERIT: The DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship Program, formerly known as the NSDB or NSTA Scholarship under RA No. 2067, is awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics and are willing to pursue careers in the fields of science and technology.
  • RA 7687: Republic Act No. 7687, also known as the “Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994”, provides for scholarships to talented and deserving students whose families’ socio-economic status does not exceed the set cut-off values of certain indicators. Qualifiers must pursue priority fields of study in the basic sciences, engineering, other applied sciences, and science and mathematics teaching.

Clothing Allowance₱1,000 (1st Sem of 1st Year only)

(for those studying outside of home province)

Who can Apply?

  1. Graduating Grade 12 male and female students in SY 2023-2024:
    1. STEM STRAND: All students belonging to the STEM class
    2. NON-STEM STRAND: Must be in the top 5% of the graduating class, if belonging to the Non-STEM strand
  2. Graduate of Grade 12 before SY 2023-2024 and did not enroll in college yet:
    1. STEM STRAND: All students belonging to the STEM class
    2. NON-STEM STRAND: Must be in the top 5% of the graduating class, if belonging to the Non-STEM strand
  3. Graduate of high school before the K-12 Program. Must belong to the top 5% of the graduating class.
  4. Must have grades in Grades 9, 10, and 11.
  5. The scores in the Philippine Education Placement Test Certificate of Rating is acceptable if you skip a grade.
  6. Must be natural-born Filipino citizen.
  7. Must be of good moral character and in good health.
  8. May have taken the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Examination but did not qualify for the scholarship; OR may have qualified for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship but did not avail of the award.
  9. Must NOT have earned any post-secondary (college or vocational) units.
