The CHED Merit Scholarship Program offers financial assistance in the form of full or partial scholarships under the State Scholarship and Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA). The scholarship covers tuition, other fees, and a monthly stipend for living expenses.

This is an excellent opportunity for qualified Filipino students to pursue their higher education goals without the financial burden.

Whether attending a private higher education institution or a state or local university or college, students can benefit from this program and focus on their academic pursuits.

The program covers tuition and other school fees, a stipend released directly to scholars or through higher education institutions, and a book and connectivity allowance per semester until the completion of the degree program.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be graduating high school students or high school graduates with a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 96% for Full Merit Program and 93% to 95% or its equivalent for Half Merit Program.

In addition, student applicants belonging to special groups such as underprivileged and homeless citizens, persons with disabilities, and solo parents and/or their dependents must submit certifications and/or identification cards issued by the appropriate offices or agencies.

Applicants can only avail of one government-funded financial assistance program, and they must provide documentary requirements, such as a certified true copy of their birth certificate to prove their citizenship, high school report cards, and income requirements (depending on their situation).

They must also submit a special group identification card and send their application and documents online to their respective CHED Regional Office.
