The Department of Science and Technology (abbreviated as DOST; Filipino: Kagawaran ng Agham at Teknolohiya), is the executive department of the Philippine government responsible for the coordination of science and technology-related projects in the Philippines and formulating policies and projects in the fields of science and technology in support of national development. Executive Order No. 128 mandates the Department to “provide central direction, leadership, and coordination of scientific and technological efforts and ensure that the results therefrom are geared and utilized in areas of maximum economic and social benefits for the people”.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is the primary science and technology body in the country, charged with pursuing the state policy of supporting local efforts in science, technology, and research and development. The DOST Science and Technology (S&T) Fellows Program aims to boost the research and development (R&D) capacity of the DOST RDIs and Councils to deliver innovative activities, programs, and services to Filipinos through a pool of science experts.

The Department of Science and Technology – Office of the Undersecretary for Research and Development (DOST-OUSECRD) is in need of competent S&T Fellows (Contract of Service) to occupy thirty-three (33) positions under the project, “DOST Science and Technology (S&T) Fellows Program”. Accepted S&T Fellows shall report on a full-time basis to the DOST Agency he/she shall be assigned to. Working arrangements and reporting schedule (e.g. office, work from home, flexible) shall be determined by the agency of assignment.

Seventeen (17) S&T Fellow I (SG 23/ Php 96,004 Monthly Salary)

  • Education: Master’s Degree in the following field(s): Electronics/ Electronic Communications Engineering/ Computer Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Applied Physics or equivalent field. Preferably radio frequency and wireless communication system
  • Experience: With at least three (3) years of productive professional R&D work after completion of MS. Project involvement in at least one relevant (1) R&D project as Co-investigator, Primary Investigator, or any equivalent positions. Preferably has implemented at least one (1) R&D project as Project Leader
  • Training: Sixteen (16) hours of relevant training
  • Eligibility: PD 997 / RA 1080 / Career Service Professional
  • Publications: Must have at least one (1) paper published in ISI or Scopus-indexed journals or conference proceedings, as sole author or co-author (excluding thesis/dissertation)

Eleven (11) S&T Fellow II (SG 24/ Php 108,094 Monthly Salary)

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and other related life sciences graduate studies. Preferably in diagnostics, molecular biology, and biotechnology
  • Experience: With at least five (5) years of productive and extensive professional R&D work after completion of MS. Project involvement in at least one relevant (1) R&D project as Coinvestigator, Primary Investigator, or any equivalent positions. Preferably has implemented at least one (1) R&D project as Project Leader.
  • Training: At least twenty-four (24) hours of relevant training. Preferably in the areas of health technology assessment
  • Eligibility: PD 997 / RA 1080 / Career Service Professional
  • Publications/ Patents: Must have at least two (2) paper published in ISI or Scopus-indexed journals conference proceedings, as sole author or co-author (excluding thesis/ dissertation)

Five (5) S&T Fellow III (SG 25/ Php 123,228 Monthly Salary)

  • Education: Doctoral Degree in Electronics, Communications, or Electrical Engineering or related fields. Preferably a professional in the field of semiconductors (microelectronics and IC design), electronic data processing (big data analytics), consumer electronics (smart things), control systems (sensors and actuators), and industrial electronics (robotics)
  • Experience: With at least ten (10) years of productive and extensive professional R&D work. Must have implemented at least one (1) R&D project as Project Leader
  • Training: Thirty-two (32) hours of relevant training
  • Eligibility: PD 997 / RA 1080 / Career Service Professional
  • Publications: Must have at least three (3) papers published in ISI or Scopus-indexed journals conference proceedings, as sole author or co-author (excluding thesis/dissertation)
