Philippine Ports Authority (Filipino: Pangasiwaan ng Daungan ng Pilipinas) is a government-owned and controlled corporation under the Department of Transportation as an attached agency. It is responsible for financing, management, and operations of public ports throughout the Philippines, except the port of Cebu, which is under the Cebu Ports Authority. The PPA is the primary government agency concerned with the planning and development of the country’s seaports. Established in 1974, the PPA’s charter was amended by Executive Order 857, which expanded its functions to include the integration and coordination of ports nationwide.

Interestingly, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is looking for interested and qualified applicants for the following vacant positions until December 5, 2022:

One (1) Senior Terminal Operations Officer (Salary Grade 11)

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Work Experience: Two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Training: Eight (8) hours of relevant training

  • Duties and Functions: Provide technical assistance in the supervision and monitoring of cargo handling operations.

One (1) Cashier B (Salary Grade 9)

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Work Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience
  • Training: Four (4) hours of relevant training
  • Eligibility: Career Service (Professional); Second Level Eligibility
  • Duties and Functions: Assesses and collects all the required charges on cargoes and vessels as well as the PPA share on operators’ income and rentals.

One (1) Corporate Budget Analyst A (Salary Grade 9)

  • Training: None required

  • Duties and Functions: Responsible for validating and assessing the completeness of financial records/schedules and ensuring proper maintenance of budget control records

One (1) Civil Security Officer B (Port Police Officer III) (Salary Grade 10)

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Work Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience
  • Training: Four (4) hours of relevant training

  • Duties and Functions: Provides administrative support functions to Port Police Division Manager and performs other specific duties as Pass Control Officer and Records Officer.
