Job Description

A Farm Maintenance Worker maintains farm equipment and buildings, fixing things when needed to keep the farm running smoothly.

Handling tasks such as:

  • To carry out or assist with repairs, removal of faulty or damaged equipment and fittings, and installation of new or replacement equipment and fittings to all sections of the piggery production units, administration, fixed and mobile plant, and amenities buildings.
  • To carry out or assist with plumbing installation and repairs.
  • To erect, repair, and maintain fencing.
  • To assist tradesmen and contractors when necessary.
  • Clean and maintain personal protective footwear and clothing.
  • Operate farm machinery, vehicles, and plant equipment.
  • Maintain machinery equipment.
  • Operate power tools.
  • Works under general supervision and guidance, responsible for their own work, and receives guidance relating to more unusual features or tasks.
