Surprisingly, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has officially opened its Recruitment Cycle 2023 (RC2023) and is now accepting applications from interested and qualified individuals who are willing to join the agency’s workforce.

The recruitment process aims to fill various positions across BuCor’s different units and facilities, including administrative, security, and support roles. Both fresh graduates and experienced professionals who meet the qualifications and requirements set by the agency are encouraged to apply.

The Bureau of Corrections in the Philippines has minimum requirements for applicants to become Corrections Officers.

These requirements include being a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines, having good moral character, passing a psychiatric/psychological, drug, and physical test, possessing a baccalaureate degree from a recognized learning institution, and having one of several eligibilities, such as Civil Service Eligibility or Police Officer Eligibility.

Applicants must also meet certain height and age requirements, and must not have been dishonorably discharged or convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude.

Documentary requirements include a letter of intent, personal data sheets, authenticated copies of certifications and transcripts, clearance certificates, and various other documents.

Applicants must also secure a BIR number, PAG-IBIG number, and Philhealth number before submission of their application folders.

The necessary documents can be submitted at any of the following BuCor units: BuCor National Headquarters’ Human Resource Division, Correctional Institution for Women, Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm, Leyte Regional Prison, Davao Prison and Penal Farm, San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm, and Sablayan Prison & Penal Farm.

The deadline for submission is April 28, 2023, and applications will only be accepted from 0800H to 1400H.

Except for justifiable circumstances, applicants who do not make it to their scheduled screening process will not be recommended for the next screening procedure.

Moreover, only 2022 applicants can pull out their application folders for re-application. Each applicant shall be given a stub that they shall present at every stage of the recruitment process to track their progress.

It is also mandatory for applicants to wear a white round neck shirt, maong pants, white rubber shoes, white socks, a black garrison belt with silver buckle, and a surgical mask. Males must have a neat haircut, while females must have their hair tied in a bun.
