Currently, BFP Region 4A is inviting applications for 183 Fire Officer 1 (FO1) positions as part of their Regular Recruitment CY 2023.
As a Fire Officer 1, you will be responsible for preventing and responding to fires, performing regular inspections of buildings and facilities, educating and training the public on fire prevention and safety, and aiding in disaster response efforts. To become a Fire Officer 1 in the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), applicants must meet general and minimum qualifications.
General qualifications include being a Filipino citizen, possessing good moral character, and having a sound physical and mental state, as evidenced by passing the neuro-psychiatric evaluation, medical examination, and drug test. Applicants should not have a dishonorable discharge or dismissal from previous employment or conviction for an offense involving moral turpitude.
Meanwhile, the minimum qualifications require applicants to be between 21 to 30 years old, at least 1.57 meters or 5’2″ in height for males and 1.52 meters or 5’0″ for females, and within 5 kilograms of their standard weight based on their age, height, and sex.
Applicants must also possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution of learning and have 2nd level eligibility under RA 1080, CSC Professional, PD 907, Fire Officer 2, Fire Officer Exam, or Police Officer taken 1998 onwards. Meeting these qualifications is necessary to be considered for the Fire Officer 1 position in the BFP.
The Bureau of Fire Protection is currently accepting applications for various positions.
Interested applicants must submit their requirements to the link provided and to the Office of the Human Resource Management Section, Admin Division, Regional Office IV-A on or before April 21, 2023.
The documentary requirements include a signed application letter, a notarized Personal Data Sheet (CSC Form 212), and clearances from various government agencies.
Other requirements include authenticated copies of PSA birth certificate, PSA marriage contract for married applicants, transcript of records and diploma, and Certificate of Appropriate Eligibility and ID for Board Passers.
Applicants should also provide a photocopy of a Certificate of Waiver issued by the Chief, BFP, in case they did not meet the height and age requirement. They should also have unexpired government-issued IDs and a professional driver’s license with Restrictions Code 2 and 3 or National Certificate (NC) II or III in driving issued by TESDA, if any.
Proof of Tax Identification Number (TIN), PHILHEALTH Number (MDR and ID), and PAG-IBIG Number (ID Cards) duly verified by the agency is also required. Finally, applicants must provide proof of government service if they were previously or presently employed.
