The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in the Philippines has established general and minimum qualifications for applicants seeking to become part of the organization.

General qualifications require an applicant to be a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines, possess good moral character, pass a neuro-psychiatric evaluation, medical examination, and drug test, not have been dishonorably discharged from previous employment, and not have a conviction for an offense or crime involving moral turpitude.

The minimum qualifications require a male or female Filipino citizen aged between 21 and 30 years, with a minimum height of 1.57 meters for males and 1.52 meters for females, and a weight that is not more or less than five (5) kilograms from the standard weight corresponding to their height, age, and sex.

Additionally, an applicant must have a Baccalaureate degree from a recognized institute of learning and possess Civil Service Commission (CSC) 2nd level eligibilities.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is currently accepting applications from interested and qualified applicants for various positions. To apply, applicants are required to submit one (1) set of application folder with a jacket and white letter tabbings and table of contents to the Human Resource Management Section (HRMS) of the BFP-BARMM. The submission deadline is on April 21, 2023, at 5 PM.

The application folder should contain an application letter indicating the position applied for, addressed to the Regional Director. Additionally, a duly notarized handwritten Personal Data Sheet (PDS) (Revised 2017) should be included, which can be accessed online. The PDS should include a recent passport-sized photo with a white background, name tag, and signature. A Work Experience Sheet (CS Form No. 212 Attachment) is also required for applicants who have filled in the work experience portion of page 2 of the PDS. This sheet can also be accessed online.

School credentials such as a Transcript of Records and Diploma, both duly authenticated by the School Registrar, are also required. For those who have taken the Civil Service Exam, a Certificate of Eligibility is needed, which must be authenticated by the Civil Service Commission (CSC). For those who have a Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ID and Certificate of Rating, photocopies must be authenticated by the PRC. A Certificate of Waiver is also necessary for applicants with age and/or height deficiencies.

Other requirements include an original birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), an original PSA Marriage Certificate for married female applicants, and various clearances, such as a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance, Philippine National Police (PNP) clearance, Municipal Trial Court (MTC) clearance, and Regional Trial Court (RTC) clearance. Photocopies of IDs and forms such as PhilHealth ID and MDR Form, Pag-IBIG ID and MDF Form, and TIN ID and 2316 Form are also required. Female applicants must also submit ECG and Serum Pregnancy test results.

It is important to note that applications with incomplete documents will not be entertained. Furthermore, applicants should use the designated color of the application folder per province. Maguindanao applicants should use a red folder, Lanao del Sur applicants a blue folder, Basilan applicants a brown folder, Sulu applicants a green folder, Tawi-Tawi applicants a yellow folder, and Cotabato City applicants a pink folder.
